A Brief History...

Roger Calverley is a writer, composer, musician, meditation teacher, healer and artist who lives in Lindsay Ontario, Canada, where he is the director of two meditation groups and explores the interface between crystals and consciousness.

His first book was entitled The Healing Gems, which he published under the ‘nom de plume’ of R. Anthony, in 1983. This was a ground-breaking book in the field of crystals at that time in Canada. It was followed by The Language of Crystals in 1986 and Crystal Yoga in 2006.

Two further manuscripts, Crystal Alchemy and Crystal Dharma have been completed, but not yet released. Roger developed two courses of study in a field of healing known as Radionics, and released Radionics and Self-Development in 1986. The book quickly became a classic in its field and again broke new ground, bringing together the inner laws of the universe and applying them to distant healing. Most of the above books were marketed through New Leaf, a major distributor of books in the USA.

In the mid to late 1980’s, Roger was beginning to play the celtic harp, and his first recording, Celtic Mysteries, was released in 1988. It was at the forefront of the wave of interest in Celtic music and became a best seller and GOLD release in Canada, selling over 100,000 copies. Celtic Mysteries was followed by Avalon, Celtic Mysteries II, Bard of Hearts and Temple of Singing Bowls, all of which are currently distributed by Lotus Press in the USA for a primarily North American Market.

During the 1980’s Roger was beginning to be invited to speak at various universities and meeting places on the topic of self development and meditation. He completed, but did not publish, a manual on surviving nuclear war which became the basis for a course he taught in evening school for the Toronto Board of Education. An article on his work in this field appeared on the front page of the Globe and Mail, which led to a number of radio, television and print media events across Canada. This course was the best attended offering that year within the TBO and a new section had to be opened to accommodate the overflow.

The book “Realize Your Potential” was published at this time, exploring the link between music and higher states of consciousness. Roger was playing his harp at various lectures on meditation in order to facilitate the achievement of deeper states of meditation, with great success. This led to invitations to teach and lecture at venues all across Canada and the USA, Australia, New Zealand and parts of SE Asia up to the end of the 1990’s. Roger has travelled widely, exploring ancient traditions art and architecture in places such as India (where he has lived and studied at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram), Sri Lanka, Egypt, Crete, Greece, Thailand, Borneo, Peru and much of Europe.

From 1989 to 1995, Roger was the director of a meditation centre in Chiangmai, Thailand, where he also taught Journalism, Poetry and English at Chiangmai University, the second largest in the country. While in Thailand, he taught watercolour painting, and continues to paint landscapes in oil, as well as to landscape the grounds of the meditation centre in Lindsay. He was asked by the owner of DK Books, the biggest publisher in the country, to write a book on meditation for busy people, and this led to the publication of “Meditation for People On The Go”. Roger was also using and selling guided tapes on meditation, relaxation, visualization and affirmations which he had prepared in the late 1980’s and which were being marketed in Canada by Oasis.

Upon returning to Canada, Roger started a meditation centre in Lindsay, Ontario and resumed his work in writing. He designed a deck of Tarot cards which was released in conjunction with the book Ancient Mysteries Tarot. This was followed by The Primal Runes, and several other books (currently being revised for publication), including Crystal Alchemy, Crystal Dharma and The Song of Ra. Lotus Press has been the principal distributor of Roger’s writings and music for the last eight or ten years.

In addition to doing final edits and design for “The Crystal Revolution”, Roger is working on the manuscript of a follow-up book to be entitled “Awakening To Destiny”, and a third in this series to be entitled “Diamond Being, The Natural State”.
